We are bringing back a popular session – Open Space!
Join your Chapter colleagues to talk about what’s on your mind. Terri Breining, CMP, CMM will facilitate our session, but the attendees will drive the content and discussion.

Here are some comments from the March 2010 Open Space program:

  • I met more people at this event than any other MPI event. Would love to do it again sometime and may try this format with my groups!
  • I would love to see this “open space” concept at future meetings when appropriate. It was wonderful to be able to exchange knowledge and ideas with the wonderful people of MPI!
  • I thought this was a great change of pace. I was a little apprehensive at first when Terri was explaining everything, but after it started flowing, the results were amazing! What a unique layout, and I took away a lot of helpful information and advice.

This is one event you cannot afford to miss!

Open Space – The Future of Meetings and the Meetings Industry

Richard Aaron, CMP, CSEP
Terri Breining, CMP, CMM

At a time when the entire meeting industry is being redefined, this program will create an opportunity to discuss the issues of today and tomorrow.  We will be encouraged to look to the future and to explore how meetings can have greater meaning and produce more significant impact.  We may review the state of the meeting industry and discuss how we might influence its direction.  We may raise provocative questions and see what brilliant ideas arise.

This session will utilize Open Space Technology, an innovative format that enables participants to identify the topics that are of greatest interest to them, and then facilitate discussion on those areas.  Open Space creates an environment for generating ideas, sharing resources and best practices, sharing knowledge across disciplines.  Open Space almost always delivers a few surprises, and this session will certainly provide great food for thought about the future of meetings and the meeting industry.
