Member Recognition

Each year our chapter takes the time to recognize the accomplishments of our volunteers at our Annual Chapter Awards Gala.  These individuals are nominated by their peers for their efforts throughout the year.

Awards voted on by Membership

Meeting Industry Advocate-The Meeting Industry Advocate award will be presented to a member whose actions consistently promote the meetings industry in Wisconsin. The individual also encourages the growth and image of our industry through education, promotion, or lobbying should be nominated for this award.

Criteria for this award: Current MPI-WI member

Team of the Year-The Team of the Year (TOTY) award is designed to recognize an entire team's accomplishments.  The TOTY will be nominated from each team lead.  The team lead should outline should outline what each member of the team has contributed to the team's success.

Criteria for this award:  TOTY can be a chapter special project, fundraising, or monthly meeting team.  A successful TOTY is team that shares in the majority of the work and works together.  The team has aligned and accomplished the goals that meet the chapter's goals.  The team also must have completed work between September and May of each year to be considered.

The TOTY may be nominated by a team lead or the membership at large.

Rising Star Award-The Rising Star Award is presented to a newer member of MPI-Wisconsin who has become an active part of our organization.  This award is designed to recognize an individual whose time and efforts put him/her on a path to being one of our next leaders.

Criteria for this award:  MPI-WI member between 6 months and 2 years.  The member also has demonstrated an immediate interest in MPI-WI by volunteering for a team, working on a specialty project, etc.

Supplier of the Year Award-The Supplier of the Year award is the top award for suppliers.  This award is a tribute to the recipient's service, accomplishments, recognition and contributions to our industry.

Criteria for this award:  Must be an MPI-WI member for a minimum of 3 consecutive years
Served or currently serves as a team member, team chair or Board member
Served the community and received professional recognition
Demonstrated dedication, commitment and involvement in the meetings industry
Has not been selected in the past five years

Planner of the Year Award-The Planner of the Year award is the pinnacle award for planners.  This honor recognizes the recipient's service, accomplishments, recognition and contributions to our industry.

Criteria for this award:  Must be an MPI-WI member for a minimum of 3 consecutive years
Served or currently serves as a team member, team chair, or Board member
Served the community and received professional recognition
Demonstrated dedication, commitment and involvement in the meetings industry
Has not been selected in the past five years

Awards Information

Membership will find nomination forms on our MPI-WI website the middle of June.  It is encouraged to nominate members in all categories.  It is also very important to follow the criteria of each award so we have qualified nominees.  After nominations are submitted, the Awards committee communicates with nominees and forwards a questionnaire that details his/her membership, the involvement in the Chapter as well as other activities outside of MPI.

After nomination forms are returned, these forms are posted on the membership website so members can view and vote in each of the above categories.  Voting remains open for about 10 days and then the Awards committee meets to review the nominee forms and also the final membership vote. Award winners are confidential until the night of the gala.
