Part 1 - Excel Fundamentals (10:15 AM)

Session Description: Excel can perform so many functions for the meeting professional, from handling budgets, registration, calculating sleeping room rates & determining registration fees.  This first part of a two part seminar untangles the basics of Excel, so you can begin using its’ features like a professional.

After attending this session, you will be able to:

  • Understand how to build and modify formulas
  • Format columns and rows
  • Identify critical fundamental Excel time saving tools.

Part 2 - Excel Intermediate & Beyond (11:30 AM)

Session Description: This session picks up where Part 1 left off.  This session identifies essential time saving features and functions for the meeting professional, from handling budgets, registration, calculating sleeping room rates & determining registration fees.  This session is your opportunity to explore much of the functionality that Excel has to offer.

By attending this session and you will work with and receive many meeting industry spreadsheets, including ones covering Rack Rate, Break Even Analysis and Attrition, along with a number of in-class worksheets, all tailored to the meeting industry professional.

After participating in this session, the attendee will be able to:

  • Identify and use over 10 advanced Excel tools
  • Identify and use advanced tools such as Pivot Tables and working with multiple worksheets
  • Use Excel to track potential Attrition damages

A working knowledge of Excel, or participation in Part 1 of the Excel Seminar, is strongly recommended to participate in Part 2 of this course.
