Join your fellow MPI-WI colleagues for an outstanding education
program and meeting industry marketplace. Each speaker has been
selected for their ability to provide practical tactics, rather
than theories, that you can take home and implement immediately.
St.
Patrick’s Day is the perfect backdrop for this year’s
event. The celebration starts early on March 16 th for early arrivals
and suppliers (as this year you are able to set up your booth the
night before). Visit Milwaukee is once again sponsoring the trade
show and working hard to bring you a top-notch event to allow planners
and suppliers quality time together. Thursday’s schedule also
allows suppliers the opportunity to attend all educational sessions.
Additionally, the concurrent morning sessions are repeated to enable
you to take in 50% of the offerings!

Doing It All in Eight Hours Without Going Crazy
Presented by Deb Spring Laurel
speaker-supplied bio)
The afternoon General Session promises to be a
pot of gold in our busy lives. Who among us doesn’t need improvements
in our efficiency levels?! We all have the same number of hours
in every day, yet some people seem to fit so much more into them.
We are trapped by our assumptions, which make us feel that those
around us control our time. In this highly participative, informative,
and entertaining hour, you will learn how to spring your time trap
by:
| (1) |
exploring your assumptions |
| (2) |
identifying what invests you in
poor time management behaviors, and |
| (3) |
learning time management tricks,
such as the "Swiss cheese approach" to complete large projects.
|
Isn’t it time that you took control of your time and your
life?

The Magic Formula for Persuasive Communications
Presented by Larry Mesereau
for speaker-supplied bio)
Whether you’re a corporate planner charged
with generating enthusiasm, an association planner negotiating attrition,
an independent trying to promote your business, or an industry supplier
who wants to fill more beds/seats/dates, you don’t want to
miss this session.
Your ability to present information in the
form of promotional copy will make you stand out as a valuable professional.
In this program, you’ll learn how to apply the secrets top
advertising “creatives” use to design and write persuasive
promotional materials, from meeting announcements and mailers to
brochures and web sites. From this day forward, you’ll turn
out more compelling messages using Larry’s Magic Formula
For Persuasion. Never again will you allow the most common
graphic design errors – costly errors even experienced marketers
and expensive advertising agencies make all too often. You’ll
learn how to capture your readers’ attention, walk them step-by-step
through your riveting communiqué, and demand RESPONSE!

Ethics & Governance - Developing Organizations of Character
Presented by John DiFrances
for speaker-supplied bio)
What happened to the ethical business leaders
of the past? Were they real or just a figment of nostalgic recollection?
Today we stand at the brink of a full-scale corporate leadership
credibility crisis, seemingly unable to regain stability or the
public’s confidence. Scandal after scandal has dealt corporate America,
non-profits and government agencies a devastating blow. The question
at hand is “How to recover this lost confidence, rebuild credibility,
and regain ethical stability?” John Di Frances is well known for
his expertise on the subject of corporate ethics. He has lectured
and written extensively on this topic. His latest book Reclaiming
the Ethical High Ground: Developing Organizations of Character
deals with the current ethics dilemma. He demonstrates the importance
of a top-down organizational commitment to excellent ethical character.
Using three important keys, John outlines how organizations can
successfully adopt and support effective ethics, thus developing
an organizational culture of character. He understands that legislation
alone will not solve the ethics deficit. John gives leaders the
information they need to make the difference in their organizations.
For this event, he will be relating these principles specifically
to the meetings industry.

Cold Calling Made Easy
Presented by Christine McMahon
speaker-supplied bio)
This program is designed to equip both tenured
and inexperienced sales professionals with a proven process, strategy,
and scripts for making the initial call. Companies across the nation
are using this system to secure meetings with key decision makers
and fill their sales funnel with viable opportunities. To illustrate,
many have reported after implementing the process, they moved from
making ten calls and getting one appointment to securing five to
eight appointments. Attend this program only if you are interested
in learning how to make the phone an easy connection to the right
people!
