The Value of Sponsorship/Fundraising

  Maureen Schuerman
Speaker: Maureen Schuerman, President
Accelerated Fundraising Solutions, Inc.

Maureen Schuerman, president and founder of Accelerated Fundraising Solutions, Inc., (www.afsi.biz) has 14 years of experience helping nonprofits across the nation increase their sponsorship and fundraising revenue. She and her four staff members specialize in high results fundraising through sponsorships, capital and endowment campaigns, planned giving, annual fundraising, and major gift solicitations.

Ms. Schuerman is a highly requested speaker and trainer at national, regional, and local workshops and conferences. She also is an adjunct professor with Marquette University’s College of Professional Studies and teaches fundraising strategies to Wisconsin and Illinois nonprofits.

At the MPI Wisconsin Chapter meeting on September 22, 2005 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ms. Schuerman will show you how to utilize the latest strategies to secure new sponsors and upgrade past sponsors for your next event. You will learn how to move beyond traditional sponsorship recruitment tactics and build a sponsorship program that secures more sponsorship dollars for your clients. “Today sponsors need more than signage and verbal recognition from the podium at an event. They need you to help them find proactive and interactive ways to connect with your event attendees” says Ms. Schuerman. During the workshop you receive step by step instructions on how to develop a profitable sponsorship program and how to successfully identify, cultivate, and solicit sponsorship prospects who are a good match for your sponsorship benefits.

Ms. Schuerman is a past trainer at the MPI Wisconsin Chapter meetings. Her presentation, “How to Organize a Special Event Fundraiser,” in September, 2000, in Delevan, Wisconsin, was well received by attendees.

MPI-WI Chapter Hurricane 2005 Relief

Victims of Hurricane Katrina are attempting to recover from the massive storm that hit the Gulf States. Volunteers and government agencies have been deployed to the hardest-hit areas of Katrina's destruction, caring for and supplying hundreds of thousands of victims left homeless with critical necessities.

Those of us in Wisconsin are humbled and grateful we did not have to endure the pain and loss brought to those in the Gulf States. From our MPI colleagues to those who have loved ones in the region; we all want to help but seem helpless to do so.

MPI - Wisconsin Chapter is known for its incredible generosity, and stands prepared to do its part to make a difference in people's lives. While we aren't physically in the gulf region to lend a hand, comfort the grieving, or bandage the wounds — we can open our hearts by donating to the relief efforts...
