We guarantee No Frozen Tundra in Green Bay for the MPI meeting in February!

You might wonder how we could guarantee this. Do we have a magic ball? Have inside weather knowledge?  No, we have the Tundra Lodge Resort & Waterpark for our meeting!

Join us on February 16th in a warm and welcoming atmosphere for lunch before our platinum series presenter Tyra Hilliard shows us how to Lambeau Field logo “Do the Right Thing”.

Then the real fun begins as we thaw out the other tundra and enjoy the hospitality of the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.  This will be one event you won’t want to miss!

Assistant Professor,
UNLV Dept of Tourism & Convention

Wrong or right? Ethical or unethical? Professional or unprofessional? Talking the talk of professional ethics is not enough. Meeting professionals walk the fine line of ethics every day in their jobs and lives. How do we ensure that professionals are adhering to the appropriate ethical standards? How do we know what those standards are? Meeting professionals come from diverse backgrounds, but it is important to us and to the profession that we agree on professional ethical norms. What is okay to one person may be unthinkable to another, so let’s pull out the dirty laundry and discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of our profession. In this highly interactive session, each table will use industry knowledge, common sense, and the MPI Principles of Professionalism to discuss thought-provoking ethical industry scenarios. Facilitator Tyra Hilliard will then invite each table to share their views with the group. Whether you are a veteran or new to the profession, come share your views on ethical issues such as: - Is there really a difference between a “rebate” and a “kickback?” - When is it okay to use a client contact list from a previous employer? - Can a hotel booking incentive ever be considered a “bribe?” - How can choosing a meeting venue be unethical?! - The age old fam trip question—when should you say “yes?”

After participating in this session, you will be able to:

  • Understand the interrelationship between ethics, law, and culture.
  • Comprehend the importance of ethical standards to the meetings industry.
  • Know what to do when personal and professional ethics are at odds with one another.
  • Identify professional situations that carry ethical risks and act accordingly.
